Sports personalities named for National Sports Award-07

Youth and Sports Adviser Tapan Chowdhury announced the names of 10 sports personalities for the National Sports Award for the year 2007, reports UNB.
The Adviser announced the names at a press conference at his Ministry Thursday.
The awardees included eight sportspersons and two sports organisers.
The eight sportspersons are: Sharmila Roy (Athletics), Ranjit Das (Football), Amir Hossain Patwari (Kabaddi), Lieutenant Commander S Arshad (Swimming), Aminul Islam (Judo), M Nurul Islam (Hockey), Engineer Sheikh Abul Hashem (Badminton) and Professor Dr Rashiduddin Ahmed (Basketball).
Sports organisers are Ataul Haq Mallik (posthumous) and Kazi Anisur Rahman.
Each award carries a gold medal, certificate and Tk 20,000.
