Sreedharpur Tohfa Sports and Telecom Club clinched the Independence Day T20 Cricket Tournament title defeating Shakharnagar Union Club by six wickets recently organised by Baraikhali Progati Sangsad of Sreenagar Upazila, Munshiganj, said a press release.
A total of nine teams-- Nawbabganj Cricket XI, Munshinagar Cricket XI, Baraikhali Progati Sangsad, Soilpur Cricket Club, Agla Torun Sangha, Shekharnagar Union Club, Tohfa Sports and Telecom, Sreedharpur and Mohammadpur Cricket Club-- took part in the meet.
Winning the toss, Shekharnagar opted to bat first and were all out for 108 runs playing 17.3 balls.
In reply, Sreedharpur reached the target losing only four wickets.
Joshi of Sreedharpur named the man of the match while Maidul of Shekharnagar became the highest wicket takers of the tournament.
SM Muktar Hosain, Upazila Social Services officer and SM Sanaullah, Vice President and General Manager of the National Bank Limited were also present on the occasion.
