Sumita emerges champ in 13-14 age group

Sumita Rani Sarker of Narayanganj DSA emerged champion in the 13-14 age group of the Inter-district Women's Age Group Swimming Championship that concluded at the swimming pool of Dhanmondi Women's Complex in the city Saturday, reports UNB.
Rani secured three gold medals to clinch the top slot while Panna Rani Mondol of Rajshahi DSA finished runner-up in the group with one gold and two silver medals.
President of the Bangladesh Women's Sports Association Mushfiqa Iffat was the chief guest at the closing function of the two-day swimming meet and distributed prizes.
In the other age groups, Ruma Khatun of Rajshahi DSA emerged champion in the 11-12 age group collecting three gold medals while Jainab Khatun of Chanpainawabganj DSA became runner-up with one gold and one silver medals.
In the 8-10 age group, Kakoli Akhter of Shariatpur DSA clinched the top slot with two gold medals while Suchitra Rani of Chanpainawabganj DSA finished runner-up with one gold and one bronze medals.
A total of 126 swimmers from 21 districts took part in the two-day meet organised by Bangladesh Women's Sports Association.
