Sylhet declare at 335 for 9, Barisal score 215 for 6 on day 2

Riding on splendid 168 runs from Alok Kapali, Sylhet Division declared their 1st innings at 335 for 9 in 99.1 overs on the 2nd day of the 4th round four-day National Cricket League match against Barisal Division at the Narayanganj Osmani Stadium (NOS) Sunday, reports UNB.
In reply, Barisal Division trailed by 120 runs after scoring 215 for 6 in 78 overs in the 1st innings when the bails were drawn for the 2nd day. Number seven Abul Bashar was batting on 56 off 150 balls with eight fours while Arafat Salahuddin remained unbeaten on 1.
After a sloppy start losing the first six wickets for 108 in 31.1 overs, middle order Raisul Islam and Abul Bashar steadied the ship for Barisal Division putting up 98 runs in the 6th wicket stand.
Raisul contributed 83 runs off 168 balls with 12 fours before he was sent back by Shuvashish Roy at the team total 206 for 6 in 72.1 overs.
Number four Raqibul Islam 28, skipper cum opener Shahriar Nafees 14, opener Hannan Sarker 6 and Imran Ahmed 0 failed to give the needed start to Barisal Division.
Shubashish scalped three wickets for 49 runs in 18 overs while Rashidur Rahman Rasel took two wickets for 46 runs in 12 overs.
Earlier, resuming the day with overnight 316 for 4 in 90 overs, Sylhet Division declared their innings early at 335 for 9 losing the last five wickets for just 19 runs.
Overnight batsman Kapali, who remained unbeaten on 157 Saturday, could add another 11 runs to take his score to 168 off 230 balls with 27 fours and two sixes while his partner Golam Mabud returned to the pavilion at his overnight 10 runs.
Arafat Salahuddin finished the day claiming four wickets for 94 runs in 25 overs while pacer Sajidul Islam bagged three wickets for 69 runs.
In the day's other match at the Bir Shreshtho Matiur Rahman Stadium in Khulna, visiting Rajshahi Division were bundled out for 203 runs in 101 overs in the 1st innings against Khulna Division.
In reply, hosts Khulna Division managed 190 for 7 in 76.2 overs in the 1st innings at stumps on day two. Opener Nazmus Sadat appeared to be the most impressive batsman contributing 95 runs off 201 balls with eight fours while wicket keeper Sahagir Hossain Pavel made 2nd highest 34 off 108 balls with three fours.
Khulna Division captain Habibul Bashar chipped in a useful 31 runs while opener Imrul Kayes 5, Tushar Imran 4, Shakib Al Hasan 2 and Mostafizur Rahman 6 could not do justice to their names.
Medium pacer Farhad Reza, spinner Suhrawardy Shuvo and pacer Alamgir Kabir took two wickets apiece.
Earlier, in the morning, Rajshahi Division resumed their 1st innings with overnight 174 for 9 in 90 overs and crossed the 200-mark with the help of useful 48 runs from Farhad Reza.
Farhad, resuming batting at 26, remained unbeaten on 48 off 109 balls that featured five fours.
Pacer Dollar Mahmud finished his spell with 7 for 52 runs in 21 overs while Murad Khan took two wickets for 43 runs.
