Taijul gets maiden nomination for ICC Player of the Month

Bangladesh left-arm spinner Taijul Islam got his maiden nomination for the ICC Player of Month award for his stellar performance in December, reports BSS.

He will battle with Australian captain Pat Cummins and New Zealand batter Glenn Phillips for the accolade.

Taijul's Test performance against New Zealand in December was key in his first nomination as he helped Bangladesh draw the series. The experienced left-arm spinner produced a decisive spell as Bangladesh won the first of their Tests against the visiting Blackcaps in Sylhet. Four wickets in the first innings were followed by a memorable six for 75 as New Zealand fell short by 150 runs.
