Former national team cricketer Tamim Iqbal casts his vote at Regional Public Administration Training Center (RPATC) in Chattogram on Thursday - Tamim's facebook post

CHATTOGRAM, Feb 12 (BSS): Celebrity cricketer Tamim Iqbal cast his vote for the first time on Thursday at Regional Public Administration Training Center (RPATC) in the port city at around 11 am.
"For the first time I have cast my vote today," said cricketer Tamim Iqbal after coming out of the polling centre in the city's Askardighi Par area.
Tamim, once a recognised dashing batsman of Bangladesh National Cricket team, was accompanied by his elder brother and also former national team member Nafis Iqbal.
Born and brought up in the city's Kazir Dewri area near the RPATC fall under Chattogram-9 (Kotowali-Bakalia) constituency, Tamim was escorted by on-duty members of the Armed Forces to avoid crowd soon after his arrival at center.
