Bangladesh pacer Taskin Ahmed has been roped into Colombo Strikers in the ongoing Lanka Premier League (LPL) Player auction.
Meanwhile, LPL team Dambulla Thunders has signed Bangladeshi pacer Mustafizur Rahman for the upcoming season, marking his first appearance in the tournament, report agencies.
Taskin will be joined by International stars Shadab Khan and Glenn Philips in the Colombo franchise. Taskin was bought by the franchise for $50,000 from the auction.
Liton's base price was $30,000 and veteran Musfiqur Rahim's base price was $50,000.
Bangladesh wicket-keeper batter Liton Das and Mushfiqur Rahim remained unsold in the auction. None of the franchises have expressed interest in the top players of Bangladesh.
Hard-hitter Tawhid Hridoy and Najmul Hossain Shanto were also not picked by any franchise their base price was stipulated $40, 000.
Pacer Shoriful Islam also failed to get any team in the auction, his base price was $30,000.
About 420 cricketers will be presented in the 'Player Auction', with 154 from Sri Lanka and 266 from overseas. Apart from Liton, Taskin Ahmed, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Tamim Iqbal and Mushfiqur Rahim will go under the hammer in the player auction.
Mustafizur is a familiar face in the Indian Premier League (IPL), having represented the Chennai Super Kings in the current season before joining the national team.
Mustafizur is currently in the USA to take part in a three-match T20I series against the hosts in Houston before entering the ICC Men's T20 World Cup. Bangladesh will play their first match on June 8 in Dallas.
