Thailand clinch Team Event title

In their first appearance, Thailand National Amateur Golf Team clinched the Team Event title of the Runner Group 29th Bangladesh Amateur Golf Championship at Kurmitola Golf Club Thursday, reports UNB.

Ekthumrong Luanganruk and Suradit Yongcharochchai of Thailand sealed the title playing 04 over par (145 +147 =292).

Bangladesh 'B' team, consisting of Mohammad Nazim and Mohammad Sagor, playing 05 over par (140+ 153 =293), finished runners-up while Bangladesh 'A' team studded with Mohammad Sajib Ali and Mohammad Ismail became 2nd runners-up scoring 295 in the event.  In the Individual category, winner will be decided on the basis of four round aggregated scores.

After the 2nd round, Mohammad Nazim of Bangladesh 'B' team topped the list with 04 under par (70+ 70 =140) while Mohammad Sajib Ali of Bangladesh 'A' team was in the 2nd position with 02 under par (69 +73=142).

Ekthumrong Luanganruk of Thailand was in the 3rd slot with 01 over par (72+73=145) while another Thai golfer Suradit Yongcharochchai was in the 4th position with 03 over per score (73+74 =147).

Mohammad Sajib Ali of Bangladesh A team, who dominated the first round, failed to maintain his top position by scoring 01 over par (73) in the 2nd round.

To uphold the prestige and glory of the nation, Mohammad Nazim and Mohammad Sajib Ali will have to come back very strongly with superb performances in the next two rounds to clinch title.
