Third round of National Cricket League begins today

The third round of the Ispahani Mirzapore Tea 9th National Cricket League begins Friday with four-day matches at three venues across the country with league leaders Rajshahi Division playing their first away match against Chittagong Division at the Bir Shreshtho Ruhul Amin Stadium in Chittagong, reports UNB.
Holders Dhaka Division will play their home match against Barisal Division at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur while formidable Khulna Division will play their away match against Sylhet Division at the Narayanganj Osmani Stadium in Fatullah.
On completion of two rounds of four-day matches, Rajshahi Division clearly dominates the league securing 30 points, followed by Khulna Division (23 points), Dhaka Division (21 points), Barisal Division (18 points), Chittagong Division (11 points) and Sylhet Division (7 points).
Rajshahi Division also shares the lead in one-day league with Khulna Division, winning both their matches.
The third round matches promise to be more exciting with the participation of seven top ranking cricketers, who missed the second round due to their participation in the Hong Kong Sixes.
They are national skipper Mohammad Ashraful, all-rounder Mahmuullah Riyad, Nazmul Hossain Milan (Dhaka Division), hard-hitting batsman Aftab Ahmed Chowdhury (Chittagong Division), national spinner Abdur Razzak Raj and pacer Dollar Mahmud (Khulna Division), and opening batsman Junaed Siddiqui Imrose (Rajshahi Division).
