Three-month ban for Scolari

October 06, 2007 00:00:00

PARIS, Oct 5 (AFP): Portugal coach Luiz Felipe Scolari's appeal against a four-match ban has been partially reduced to three months by European football governing body UEFA Thursday.
The Brazilian had been banned for four matches by UEFA's Control and Disciplinary Body for lashing out at Serbian player Ivica Dragutinovic with his fist after a hot-tempered Euro 2008 qualifer in Lisbon on September 12.
One month is suspended which means that Scolari will actually serve a two-month ban, and will be suspended for a further month if he commits an offence within a two-year period.
The 20,000 Swiss francs (12,022 euro) fine originally imposed on Scolari will stand.
