Bangladesh conceded a shocking six-wicket defeat to Kenya in their last warm-up match ahead of the Twenty20 World Championship at the Willowmoore Park in Benoni Sunday, reports UNB.
Bangladesh earlier defeated Kenya by five wickets in their home soil in the Twenty20 Quadrangular on September 1 before reaching South Africa.
In the day's match, the Bangladesh openers again failed a good start after being put into bat first. But Tamim Iqbal played the sheet anchors role scoring the team's highest 56 off 41 balls with eight fours and a six.
The Bengal Tigers were all out for 116 runs in 16.3 overs with the two other batsmen reaching the double figures, Aftab Ahmed Chowdhury 17 and Nadif Chowdhury 12.
Another opener Nazimuddin, who remained unbeaten on 74 in the last match against Scotland, departed early in the innings with five. After that the Bangladesh innings never looked like to be in high note.
Skipper Mohammad Ashraful (1) couldn't come out of his bad form while the other two middle order batsmen Shakib Al Hasan (2) and Kapali (3) failed to consolidate their innings.
Besides, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza 5, Syed Rasel 4, Farhad Reza not out 3, Mushfiqur Rahim 2 were also unable to give the acceleration, which was needed in the later part of the innings.
N Odhiambo appeared to be the most successful bowler bagging three wickets for 37 runs in four overs while TM Odoyo, LN Onyango and RL Bhudia took two wickets each.
In response, The African side reached the target of 117 runs in 19.5 overs at the loss of four wickets with captain Steve Tikolo hammering innings highest 36 off 25 balls that featured five fours.
The tone was earlier set by the openers DO Obuya and CO Obuya as they put up 41 runs in the first wicket stand before left-arm pacer Syed Rasel sent back CO Obuya for 16.
In the next over Mohammad Ashraful got the wicket of DO Obuya scoring 21 but after that number three Tanmay Mishra 16, TM Odoyo not out 13 and A Obanda not out 9 contributed to give their side a moral booster before the Twenty20 World Championship.
Ashraful, leaving behind the strike bowlers, grabbed two wickets for 19 runs in four overs while Farhad and Rasel took the other two wickets.

Bangladesh, placed in group A of the Twenty20 Championship, will play their first match against the West Indies at the Wanderers on Sept 13, and the 2nd and last group match against hosts South Africa on Sept 15 at Cape Town.
