Tigers' conditioning camp begins today

Bangladesh cricket team will start their 15-day conditioning camp at Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Academy Ground today (Wednesday) ahead of the tri-nation ODI series as well as Test and T20I ones, reports UNB.
Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe will play the double-league basis day-night ODI series while hosts Bangladesh and Sri Lanka face each other in two Tests and two day-night T20Is.
The Zimbabwe team will arrive in Dhaka on January 10 while Sri Lanka on January 13 to start their new year's overseas campaign.
BCB on Saturday last announced a 32-member preliminary squad for the series and the selected players will start their camp with multi-stage fitness test (Beep Test) under the supervision of strength and conditioning coach Mario Villavarayan.
The Tigers will split in two groups for their exercise at the gym and bowling activities on the academy ground tomorrow (Thursday), December 30 and January 1. December 29 has been slated for the Tigers' running test while December 31 and January 3 have been chosen for the bowlers' battings and running activities.
The Tigers will have five days' skill training sessions, eight hours in each day, starting on January 4, which will end on January 9 before a match session at SBNCS on January 10.
The tri-nation series will begin at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) at Mirpur in the city on January 15 with the hosts facing Zimbabwe in the opener.
The ODI series will be held at SBNCS while the 1st Test at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong and the 2nd one in SBNCS, which will host the 1st T20I before Sylhet International Cricket Stadium hosting the 2nd T20I.
In the double league basis ODI series, Bangladesh will meet Zimbabwe in the inaugural match on January 15, face Sri Lanka on January 19 and play Zimbabwe again on January 23 before taking on Sri Lanka on January 25. The top two teams of the league will play the final on January 27.
On completion of the ODI series, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will travel to Chittagong to play the first Test, starting on January 31. The 2nd Test will start on February 8. The first T20I will be held on February 15 while the last one on February 18.
