Despite being morally down following their consistently inconsistent performance, Bangladesh vowed to come all guns blazing in the third and final T20 match against West Indies, to be held at Providence Stadium in Guyana today (Thursday), reports BSS.

The match will start at 11.30pm Bangladesh Time and will be aired live on T Sports Channel.

West Indies are leading the series 1-0 after their comprehensive 35-run victory in the second T20, while the first match was washed out due to persistent rain. Therefore, a defeat in the third game will force Bangladesh to swallow another bitter taste of whitewash after they were swept in two-match Test series.

Bangladesh's batting was a cause of concern in the Test series and here in the T20 series, they suffered the same problem.

More often Bangladeshi players emphasised on playing as a unit and it's their strength. According to them, if they can play as a team, they get the confidence to win a game.

Bangladesh captain Mahmudullah Riyad is no exception as he again made it clear, they need to play as a team if they want to avoid the T20 whitewash.

"We always focus on winning the game," he said. "But a team like us should play as a team to win the game in T20 cricket. Everyone should have to contribute from their positions. What I understood that, play as a team is our strength. If we can't do that, it's not possible for us to win the game."

"If you look at our history, you will see, when we start well we at the do well. And for us, to start well, everyone should have a minimum contribution. I am not saying that we can't bounce back in the winning way but we can be boosted up if we started well."

Last time when Bangladesh toured the West Indies in 2018, they won the three-match T20 series by 2-1 after being swept in the Test series, although the T20 series was held in the USA. Moreover, while Bangladesh boast a disastrous record in T20 format, their win-loss ratio against the two -time Champions West Indies is still something to savour. They played 15 matches against the Caribbean side, winning five, losing eight while two were abandoned.

Overall Bangladesh played 127 matches in this format, winning 44 and losing 80 while three matches fetched no result.

Bangladesh brought up two changes in the second match, bringing in Taskin Ahmed and Mosaddek Hossain in place of Munim Shahriar and Nasum Ahmed.
