Tigers return home

Bangladesh cricketers returned home Saturday after their dismal performances in Sri Lanka.
Bangladesh in their one and a half months' tour lost all the three Tests and three ODIs, reports UNB.
Upon arrival at the Zia International Airport (ZIA) by a Qatar Airways flight in the evening, skipper Mohammad Ashraful gave no excuse about their poor performances.
"On behalf of my team I do not want to give any lame excuse why we performed so badly in Test matches. We squandered opportunities as our batsmen and fielders failed to capitalise in on the crucial moments in one-day internationals," he said.
"Especially in Test matches our performance was below par.
Batting and bowling were pathetic and even our fielding was insipid with a number of catches floored during crucial moments of the game. The only positives we gained from the Test matches were improved performances in the second innings."
Ashraful said Bangladesh batsmen would have to show more patience and resilience in Test matches.
"We all were in hurry and hardly showed any efforts to stay at the wickets in test matches."
The Bangladesh captain told sports scribes that in the first ODI, both bowlers and batsmen had a good start but they allowed the Lankans to escape.
