Tigers start T20 campaign today

Bangladesh start their ICC World T20 campaign taking on holders Pakistan today (Saturday) at 11:30 pm (Bangladesh time) at the Beausejour Stadium, Gros Islet in St Lucia with a high hope of reaching the 2nd round beating the defending champions, reports UNB.
Earlier, in the day's first match, former champions India will play new face Afghanistan at the same venue.
But the 3rd version of the Twenty20 World Cup Cricket is due to begin Friday at 11:00 pm at the Providence Stadium in Guyana with Sri Lanka taking on New Zealand in the opener.
Hosts West Indies is scheduled to play Ireland in the other opening day's match that will start late Friday night (BST Saturday 3:00 am).
The Bengal Tigers made a good start in the Caribbean Island beating Barbados by 36 runs in the first warm-up match at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown Tuesday.
But they conceded a humiliating seven-wicket defeat to England in the 2nd and last warm-up match at the same venue Wednesday ahead of their ICC World Cup campaign in West Indies.
Bangladesh, placed in the three-team Group A of the World meet, will meet mighty Australia in the 2nd and last group match on May 5 at the Kensington Oval, Bridgetown in Barbados.
A total of 12 teams, split into four groups, are taking part in the 3rd version of the ICC World T20 Cricket in West Indies.
India emerged champions in the first ICC T20 World Cup in 2007 in South Africa beating arch-rivals Pakistan while Pakistan clinched the title of the 2nd T20 World Cup Cricket beating Sri Lanka in the final in England in 2009.
