Bangladesh will take on mighty South Africa, eyeing first-ever series victory, in their third and last match of their three-match National Polymer One Day International (ODI) Cricket Series at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong today (Wednesday), reports UNB.
The series- deciding battle will begin at 3:00 pm (Bangladesh time).
Earlier, Bangladesh sealed a 7 -wicket victory over the Proteas in the second match to level the series 1-1 on Sunday at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium after conceding a 8 -wicket defeat in the first match at the same venue riding on the visitors pacer Kagiso Rabada's record best 6/16, including a hat-trick on ODI debut.
Including the win in the series Bangladesh won two ODIs against South Africa in their 16th ODI battle which is first at home soil after ICC World Cup 2007 in West Indies.
Winning the third match Bangladesh can enjoy four successive series victory after, Zimbabwe 5-0, Pakistan 3-0 and India 2-1, which can carry more sweet for the cricket loving people ahead of the holy Eid.
However, the wicket is likely to be flatter and better for batting in Chittagong which would mean a lot of the burden will be on the side batting first.
Bangladesh may field their second match's winning squad unchanged for third and last ODI.
Bangladesh (probable) : Tamim Iqbal, Soumya Sarkar, Litton Kumar Das, Mahmudullah, Mushfiqur Rahim, Shakib Al Hasan, Sabbir Rahman, Nasir Hossain, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza (captain), Rubel Hossain and Mustafizur Rahman.
South Africa (probable): Hashim Amla (captain), Quinton de Kock, Faf du Plessis, Rilee Rossouw, David Miller, Jean Paul Duminy, Farhaan Behardien, Chris Morris, Kyle Abbott, Kagiso Rabada and Imran Tahir.
