Tigers target series clinch over Pakistan in 2nd ODI today

After demolishing Pakistan in the first game, the Bangladesh national cricket team are brimming with confidence to wrap up the three-match ODI series as they take on the Pakistan national cricket team in the second match at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur today (Friday), reports BSS.
The match will start at 2:15 PM.
Such was Bangladesh's domination in the first game that many would back the hosts to seal the series with a match to spare.
Bangladesh dismantled Pakistan in ruthless fashion, exposing the gulf of difference between the two sides in terms of experience and strength.
Pakistan are ranked fourth in the International Cricket Council ODI rankings while Bangladesh sit at 10th, but the rankings mattered little on a day when the hosts were in a rampaging mood.
Pakistan dropped several senior players to make way for a number of uncapped cricketers for the Bangladesh tour, but the decision did not go in their favour.
Pace spearhead Nahid Rana claimed his career-best 5-24 to trigger the collapse as Pakistan were bundled out for just 114 runs. Bangladesh overhauled the target with a staggering 209 balls to spare, reaching 115-2 in 15.1 overs thanks to a blistering 67 not out off 42 balls from opener Tanzid Hasan Tamim.
"It was an excellent start. And yes, of course, it's after a long time that we played ODI matches. It has been difficult to play and everybody handled the situation well. Hopefully, I'm also confident about this series because of the hard work the players have put in," Bangladesh captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz said, expressing his hope of sealing the series in the second game.
"Every match is very important to qualify for the World Cup. If we play well, definitely we are confident at this moment. But still we have two more matches which are very important for us," he added.
Despite being outclassed in every department, Pakistan captain Shaheen Shah Afridi refused to give up hope of bouncing back by winning the second match.
"The kind of start we wanted was not achieved in the first game, but there are still two games left and as a team we're ready for that," Shaheen said.
"I think when you lose there are a lot of points you want to mention, but this is a young team and I'll back them till the end. We just need to build partnerships. In one-day cricket partnerships are crucial, whether in batting or bowling. So we will focus on the next game."
