Bangladesh women emerged victorious by 4 wickets in the third T20 against India at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in the city on Thursday.

Bangladesh women team defeated India for the first time since the Asia Cup final in 2018, report agencies.

Shamima Sultana's 42 helped the Tigresses to chase down 103 runs with 10 balls to spare. Ritu Moni took the winning run by taking a quick single during 18.2 overs to script the victory.

Chasing the target, Minnu Mani removed opener Shathi Rani and Dilara Akter in the first 4 overs. Bangladesh were steadied by Shamima Sultana and Nigar Sultana who put on a 46-run partnership before Devika Vaidya broke the stand by dismissing Joty.

Joty returned for 14 and Shamima hit 42 off 49 including three boundaries while Nahida Akter was unbeaten on 10 runs.

Earlier, Bangladesh restricted India to 102/9 in 20 overs, with Rabeya Khan returning a figure of 3/16. For India captain Harmanpreet Kaur top-scored with 45 aided by a positive knock of 28 from Jemimah Rodrigues.

India won the first T20 by seven wickets and in the second ODI, India came out on top with an eight-run victory.
