The trophy of fourth edition of Bangabandhu Cup International Kabaddi Tournament will be unveiled today (Saturday) at Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium in the city's Mirpur, reports BSS,
Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation (BKF) general secretary and Dhaka Metropolis Police commissioner Habibur Rahman is expected to present in the ceremony as the chief guest. Captains of the twelve participating nations and leading kabaddi officials from different countries will also present there.
The tournament, named after Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, commence from tomorrow (Sunday). The BKF almost has completed all the
preparation to make the prestigious event a success.
To take part in the tournament, Malaysia already arrived in city as the first team, followed by Nepal, Thailand, Poland, Iraq, Uganda, Kenya and Japan.
Host Bangladesh team, the champions of the last three editions, has been accommodated at the team hotel.
A total of twelve countries -- Poland from the Europe, Kenya and Uganda from Africa, Japan and South Korea from Asia, Iraq from the Middle East, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand from ASEAN and Nepal, Sri Lanka from South Asia and host Bangladesh from South Asia -- will participate in the tournament which will conclude on June 03 through the final match.
