Varsity T20 Challenge Cup begins today

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) directors Khaled Mahmud Sujon and Kazi Inam Ahmed and Walton Operative Director Uday Hakim at a press conference of the Walton Refrigerator University Challenge Cup T20 cricket tournament in the city Saturday.

The Walton Refrigerator University Twenty20 Challenge Cup Cricket, organised by Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), begins today (Monday) at BKSP in Savar, reports UNB.

Twelve teams, 10 public and two private universities, split into four groups, will take part in the four-day meet, sponsored by Walton.

In the opening match on Monday, ULAB will play Islamic University at 9:30 am at BKSP ground 2 while Islamic University will again face Jagannath University at 1:30 pm on the day at the same venue.

Participating University teams: Group A - University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB), Jagannath University and Islamic University (Kushtia).

Group B - Dhaka University, Rajshahi University and Chittagong

University

Group C - Jahangirnagar University, American International University, and Noakhali University of Science & Technology.

Group D - Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University, Khulna University and Bangladesh Agricultural University (Mymensingh)

Twelve teams will initially play on league basis matches from May 19-20 and later, the group champions will play in the semifinals on May 21. The final match will be held on May 22.
