Viqarunnisa Noon girls champions

Viqarunnisa Noon School & College retained title in the girls' group of the Polar Ice Cream 23rd School Handball Tournament outplaying Sunnydale School by 14-1 goals in a one-sided final at the Shaheed (Capt) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium in the city Sunday, reports UNB.
The winners comfortably led the first half by 10-1 goals.
This is the 15th and the 2nd consecutive crown for Viqarunnisa Noon in the school handball meet since its inception in 1988.
Fatema Akhter of the champions Viqarunnisa Noon School & College was adjudged the best player of the tournament.
CEO of the meet's sponsor Dhaka Ice Cream Industries Limited Shah Masud Iman was the chief guest in the day's final and later he distributed the prizes. General Secretary of Bangladesh Handball Federation (BHF) Asaduzzaman Kohinoor was also present on the occasion.
Earlier in the semifinals, Viqarunnisa Noon smartly booked seat for the final eliminating Dhanmondi Tutorials by 19-2 goals (first half 10-0) while Sunnydale eliminated former champion Scholastica School by 6-5 goals (first half 4-1) at the same venue.
In a 3rd place deciding match, Scholastica beat Dhanmondi Tutorials by 4-0 goals.
In the first round matches of boys' group, Dhaka Residential Model School & College beat BAF Shaheen School & College 13-7; Saint Gregory's High School defeated Green Dell International School 20-0; Motijheel Ideal School & College beat Udayan School by 16-4; while Dhaka Residential Model School & College beat South Point School & College by 25-9 goals.
