LONDON, Jun 18 (AFP): Shane Warne was one of several Australians starring Saturday on the second day of the latest round of matches in English cricket's first-class County Championship.
Hampshire captain Warne, arguably cricket's greatest leg-spinner, took four for 76 but that was not enough to prevent Durham, who bowled out their hosts for 232, taking a first innings lead with Australian Michael Di Venuto making 124 in a total of 264 for eight at the Rose Bowl.
Another Australian in the runs was Lancashire's Brad Hodge. A member of Australia's World Cup-winning squad in the Caribbean, he scored 156 not out in Lancashire's 451 for five declared against Kent which also featured 58 from former Australia batsman Stuart Law.
