LONDON, Oct 18 (AFP): Arsene Wenger would make an ideal chairman for Arsenal when he finally decides to call a day on his coaching career, according to the current incumbent Peter Hill-Wood.
The French manager has been in the Arsenal hotseat since the end of 1996, winning three titles in that period, reaching a Champions League final and landing four FA Cups.
He has also nutured a swashbuckling young team of talented players who are currently wowing the Premier League with their attractive attacking football.
And the 71-year-old Hill-Wood, who heads a board featuring five directors over the age of 60, believes Wenger would make an excellent future appointment.
"None of us are getting any younger," Hill-Wood told the Financial Times. "Arsene would make an excellent chairman one day, but we haven't discussed anything specifically."
