Bangladesh batter Shamim Patwari stayed upbeat to win the three-match T20 series against Sri Lanka, stating that their comprehensive victory in the second gave them a much-needed boost, reports BSS.
The third T20I will be held on Wednesday, The visiting side lost the first game by seven wickets but made a strong comeback in the second game, having thrashed Sri Lanka by 83 runs, a victory that was their largest against any Test playing nation in T20 format.
While captain Litton Das was instrumental in the victory with a scintillating 50 ball-76, Shamim gave the late impetus with whirlwind 26 ball-48 that helped the side post a challenging 177-7. Sri Lanka, in reply, were wrapped up for 94 in 15.2 overs.
"First of all, we won the match, and that is the most pleasing thing. Now the series is level at 1-1, so this win was important for us," Patwari told reporters at Dambulla after the game on Sunday night.
Now we have the chance to win the series, and hopefully, if we play well, we will win it."
