Michelle Wie broke par for the first time this year at the Evian Masters.
The 17-year-old prodigy from Hawaii shot a one-under 71 to total a level-par 144 and make the cut.
Wie, who had gone 24 rounds without breaking par and has been struggling with a wrist injury, said: "I'm very happy. It's a bit of a breakthrough."
American Diana D'Alessio and Hong Jin-joo of South Korea led by three strokes after Friday's second round in Evian-les-Bains, reports BBC.
Meantime, First-round leader Simon Khan and Henrik Stenson suffered bizarre fates in a remarkable second round of the Players' Championship of Europe.
Khan started the day seven under but failed to make the cut after a round of eight over, including six dropped shots in the last five holes.
Stenson was disqualified after losing count of how many shots he took at the 17th, so being unable to sign a card.
