From January next, Bangladesh women footballers will get salaries on a regular basis under a six-year contract signed between Dhaka Bank Limited and Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF), reports UNB.

BFF and SAFF President Kazi Mohammad Salahuddin informed reporters about it during a contract signing ceremony on Tuesday.

BFF boss Kazi Mohammad Salahuddin and Dhaka Bank Chairman Reshadur Rahman signed the deal on behalf of their respective organisations.

Under the contract, the BFF will bring some 45 booters under its payroll in different categories and will take positive initiative to develop country's present youthful national women's football team as a physically strong and well-mature side.

"Our different age group women's teams are doing well in recent days, and they need another 3-4 years to be a physically strong and mature national team and I welcome Dhaka Bank to stand by our side to achieve the target," Salahuddin said.

Apart from the monthly salary, the women booters will be given proper education, food, clothes and other necessary equipment.

Vice-captain of National Women's Football team Mishrat Jahan, Chairman of the Dhaka Bank Ltd Reshadur Rahman, Chairperson of the BFF women's wing Muhfuza Akhter Kiron and BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem also spoke on the occasion where former Dhaka Bank chairman ATM Hayetuzzaman Khan and Managing Director and CEO of Dhaka Bank Syed Mahbubur Rahman were also present.
