Women\\\'s Handball begins today

The 11th edition of Cute Women's Handball League will begin at the Shaheed Captain M Mansur Ali Handball Stadium in the city today (Sunday), reports UNB.

Arambagh Krira Chakra will face Usha Krira Chakra in the official opener at 3:30 pm in the 10-team meet.

Mousumi Industries Ltd chairman Kazi Mahtabuddin Ahmed will inaugurate the 11-day meet as the chief guest.

In the other opening day's fixture, defending champion Mohammedan Sporting Club will take on Viqarunnisa Sports Club at 11:30 am while runners- up Dhaka Mariner Young's Club face Fame Girls' Club at 1:00 pm at the same venue.

The participating 10 teams, split in two groups, will play the first phase. Later, two top teams from each group will play in the Super Four League.

The participating teams are Group-A Mohammedan Sporting Club, Arambagh Krira Chakra, Gafur Beluch Smriti Sangsad, Usha Krira Chakra and Viqarunnisa Sports Club are placed in Group-A while Dhaka Mariner Young's Club, RN Sports Home, Jatrabari Krira Chakra, Madaripur Handball Training Center and Fame Girls Club placed in Group-B.

Bangladesh handball Federation General Secretary Asaduzzaman Kohinoor disclosed the details at a press conference at the DBBL Auditorium of the Bangladesh Olympic Asso- ciation Bhaban Saturday. Dhaka Metro politan Police additional deputy commissioner and league committee chairman Aiysha Siddiqua, sponsor organisation chairman Kazi Rajibuddin Ahmed chapal also spoke on the occasion.
