Grandmaster Ziaur Rahman of Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club secured 5 points after the 8th round matches of the 16th Dubai Open Chess Championship in Dubai, UAE Monday, reports UNB.
In the 8th round matches of the Asia's biggest chess event, Zia conceded defeat against defending champion GM Aleksandr Rakhmanov of Russia.
Earlier, in the 7th round match Sunday, Zia drew with GM Iturrizaga Bonelli Eduardo of Venezuela.
