JAKARTA, Jul 6 (Xinhua): Soccer legend Zinedine Zidane of France became a special guest of his exceptional fans, Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and his wife, but it was local reporters who went hysterical as he arrived at the State Palace Friday.
"Zidane, we love you," local journalists shouted when the player, who ended his professional career in last year's World Cup, stepped into the palace.
Dressing in Indonesia's traditional shirt of batik, Zidane waved and smiled at the journalists.
Susilo and Ani Yudhoyono greeted him at a gazebo accompanied by Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs Adhyaksa Dault, Indonesian Soccer Association (PSSI) chairman Nurdin Halid and Indonesian Sports Council chairwoman Rita Subowo.
