Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) have been given permission by the Government of Zimbabwe to go ahead with the proposed tour of Pakistan that has been slated for October-November, reports Cricbuzz.
The news was broken to ZC through an official letter from Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC) Director General Prince Mupazviriho.
"The Sports and Recreation Commission hereby gives you notice, following your application, that the Minister of Youth, Sport, Arts and Recreation has approved your request to play the referenced matches," read the letter from Mupazviriho.
The limited-overs tour will feature three ODIs that shall be followed by as many T20Is. ZC Chairman TavengaMukuhlani was overjoyed at the development and acknowledged the Government's support in the matter. "We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to our Minister of Youth, Sport, Arts and Recreation, the Honourable Kirsty Coventry, the SRC and the entire Government of Zimbabwe for authorising the tour," he said.
"Needless to say, we at ZC are bursting with excitement as we look forward to playing cricket again and representing our nation with pride and passion in Pakistan."
Zimbabwe have already begun preparations for the tour with a 25-member training camp that started in Harare on Tuesday.
