Zimbabwe lead by 140 runs against hapless Tigers

Zimbabwe controlled the steering of the first Test with a 140-run lead, at stumps, in the second innings as hapless Bangladesh finished the first innings on 143/10 on day two at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, reports UNB.
Having a 139-run lead, Zimbabwe opened the second innings in the day's third session and played two overs to add one run for no loss to extend the lead.
Skipper Hamilton Masakadza [1* off 8b] and Brian Chari [0* off 4b] were at the crease in the opening stand when the bails were drawn for the second day's play.
Hosts Bangladesh failed to recover top-order collapse in the first innings of 51 overs in nearly two sessions on the day for their collection where debut Ariful Haque played until the end for 41* off 96 balls, including three boundaries.
Experienced Mushfiqur Rahim [31 off 54b; 5x4], young all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz [21 off 33b; 3x4] and a genuine Test batsman Mominul Haque [11 off 35b; 1x4] were double digit scorers.
Opening the first innings before the lunch break, Bangladesh started the second session with two for no loss in one over, but suffered humiliating wickets fall 19/4 within 10 overs before another jolt in 19.1 overs for 54 runs with Mominul Haque's dismissal, which is appealingly a threat to ineptitude host to face follow-on. The top-order batsmen Imrul Kayes [5], Liton Kumar Das [9] and Nazmul Hossain Shanto [5] collapsed. Each was out on single digit while skipper Mahmudullah Riyad out with duck in 9.5 overs.
Tendai Chatara captured three wickets for economic 19 runs while Sikandar Raza [3/35], Kyle Jarvis [2/28- and Sean Williams [1/5] were other wicket takers for Zimbabwe.
Earlier, spin bowler Taijul Islam's six-wicket haul helped Bangladesh restrict visiting Zimbabwe in the 1st innings to 282/10 before the lunch break on the day. Zimbabwe resumed the first innings with an overnight score of 236/5 in 91 overs and raised their tally to 282 for all in 117.3 overs.
The visiting side played only 26.3 overs in the second day's first session to add 46 runs more to their overnight collection for the cost of five wickets where Taijul captured four wickets to complete his six-wicket mission in the innings.
Overnight batsman Peter Moor hammered unbeaten 63 off 192 balls, including six boundaries, while another overnight batsman Regis Chakabva was out for 28, playing his innings of 85 balls to fire two boundaries.
P Moor and R Chakabva shared a partnership innings of 60 off 25.4 overs in the sixth stand of the innings to carry the team collection to 261/6 in 102.1 overs from 201/5 in 76.3 overs before R Chakabva was caught by Nazmul Islam off Taijul as the day's first breakthrough for Bangladesh.
The remaining three batsmen - Brandon Mavuta, Kyle Jarvis and TendaiChatara - were out on single digit on the day.
On his way to six-for 108 runs in 39.3 overs, Taijul brought the first breakthrough on both days and grabbed four wickets-Regis Chakabva, Wellington Masakadza, Kyle Jarvis and Tendai Chatara-on the second day. He got two for 86 -- Brian Chari and Brendan Taylor - on the first day.
