10 companies grab 36.33pc of weekly turnover

Top 10 traded companies captured 36.33 per cent of turnover featured by Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) in the week ended Thursday.
In five sessions of last week, the DSE featured a total turnover of Tk 90.62 billion.
Of total market turnover, Tk 32.92 billion or 36.33 per cent came from transactions of the shares of top 10 companies.
Of 10 companies, the share prices of six companies advanced ranging between 5.23 per cent and 13.71 per cent in last week.
The share prices of remaining four companies declined ranging between 1.74 per cent and 4.04 per cent.
Of the companies, LafargeHolcim Bangladesh topped the weekly turnover chart featuring a transaction of Tk 5.83 billion. The company grabbed 6.45 per cent of weekly turnover.
During the week, the company's share price declined 1.74 per cent to close at Tk 95.90 each on Thursday.
Orion Pharma grabbed 5.13 per cent of weekly market turnover after featuring a value of Tk 4.64 billion.
The company's share price advanced 11.41 per cent and closed at Tk 115.20 each.
IFIC Bank posted a turnover of Tk 4.21 billion and captured 4.65 per cent of market turnover featured by the DSE in last week.
The company's share price advanced 9.20 per cent and closed at Tk 17.80 each on Thursday.
The share price of Fortune Shoes advanced 13.71 per cent in last week and closed at Tk 99.50 each on Thursday.
In last week, Beximco featured a turnover of Tk 3.42 billion and captured Tk 3.78 per cent of weekly market turnover.
The company's share price declined 0.85 per cent and closed at Tk 139.60 each on Thursday.
Power Grid Company of Bangladesh grabbed 3.63 per cent of weekly market turnover after featuring a value of Tk 3.28 billion.
The company's share price declined 4.01 per cent and closed at Tk 67 each on Thursday.
British American Tobacco Bangladesh Company posted a turnover of Tk 2.29 billion and grabbed 2.53 per cent of weekly market turnover.
The company's share price closed at Tk 719.80 each with a rise of 5.23 per cent from the closing price of previous week.
Of other top turnover leaders, Delta Life Insurance Company posted a turnover of Tk 2.21 billion, Paramount Textile Tk 1.83 billion and GPH Ispat Tk 1.60 billion.
