Bikroy.com, country's leading online marketplace, has received more than 3.2 million advertisements in its two years of operation.
The site now caters more than 9,000 classified advertisements daily, compared to 3,000 adverts one year ago, according to a statement.
A comprehensive study of Bikroy.com's advertisements shows, during June - August in 2012, the first three months of its operations, Bikroy.com got 26 thousand advertisements. During the March-May 2014 the number of posted advertisement have increased to 8 lakh 27 thousand advertisements.
During 2014, 79% of the advertisements have come from Dhaka while Chittagong, Sylhet and Khulna accounted for 13%, 6% and 2% of the advertisements respectively among the top four cities in terms of trading.
Mobile phones, electronics like laptops, properties and cars & vehicles is the most popular traded items in the marketplace. Based on 2014 years data, close to 6 lakh mobile phones was advertised while cars & vehicles had more than 1 lac of advertisements.
Further, items such as sofas, clothes, cricket gear, birds, jobs and services is getting more and more popular to advertise on the marketplace where you can buy and sell almost everything.
Eshita Sharmin, Marketing Manager at the leading online marketplace, said that the Internet nowadays is widely used as a cheap and easy way of finding lower prices and bargains, especially on the mobile and electronics market.
