Abdul Hai Sarker re-elected as Dhaka Bank chairman

Abdul Hai Sarker has recently been re-elected as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dhaka Bank PLC for a term of two years.

Born into a respected Muslim family in Sirajganj District, Mr. Sarker completed his post-graduation (M.Com) from the University of Dhaka in 1970.

Following his academic journey, he ventured into international trade and business, where he established himself as one of the country's distinguished industrialists, says a press statement.

Through his visionary leadership, entrepreneurial acumen and unwavering dedication, Mr. Sarker built the Purbani Group into one of Bangladesh's leading business conglomerates.

Mr. Sarker is the Founder Chairman of Dhaka Bank and Chairman of the Bangladesh Association of Banks (BAB).

He also served as a Director of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI).

In the education sector, he was the former Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB).

He also served as the President of the Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA) for four consecutive terms. In addition, he is a Founder Member of the Board of Trustees of the Bangladesh Enterprise Institute (BEI) and previously served as an Associate Director of the International Cotton Association, Liverpool, United Kingdom.
