The Advertising Agencies Association of Bangladesh (AAAB) held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Banani Club in Dhaka on Wednesday.

The Advertising Agencies Association of Bangladesh (AAAB) held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Banani Club in Dhaka on Wednesday, with participation from representatives of 42 member agencies of the association.
The meeting was presided over by AAAB President Sanaul Arefeen and attended by members of the Executive Committee, agency leaders, and distinguished guests, including Geeteara Safiya Choudhury, Ramendu Majumdar, Muneer Ahmed Khan, and industry veteran Yusuf Hassan, says a press statement.
The AGM began with a welcome address by the president. The General Secretary, Syed Ahsanul Apon, presented the Annual Report, outlining key initiatives and progress over the past term.
He highlighted AAAB's continued focus on industry engagement and capability development through workshops and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
He emphasized ongoing policy advocacy efforts including engagement with key institutions such as the National Board of Revenue (NBR), Bangladesh Bank, and the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting.
He also underscored the Association's commitment to working closely with government stakeholders to strengthen policy frameworks that support government revenue generation, and recognise the growing contribution of the advertising industry to Bangladesh's digital economy.
During the open discussion and Q&A session, agency representatives shared their current business challenges and identified areas where the Association could further strengthen its focus and support.
AAAB Treasurer Sarah Ali presented the audited financial statements. The members formally adopted and approved the minutes of the November 2024 AGM, the Annual Report, the Treasurer's Report and audited financial statements, the appointment of the Auditor and determination of remuneration, as well as the Budget Proposal for 2026.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by Vice President Nazim Farhan Choudhury. The AGM was followed by a dinner, a musical performance and a networking session among members.
