A.K.M. Tareq appointed as DMD of MTB

A.K.M. Tareq has joined Mutual Trust Bank (MTB) as deputy managing director & head of the branch banking division. Tareq brings over 29 years of banking experience across functions of branch banking, corporate banking and credit risk management, according to a press statement.

Prior to joining MTB, he served as senior executive vice president & senior zonal head at BRAC Bank, where he played a key role in driving business growth, branch banking transformation and operational excellence.

He previously held different leadership positions at BRAC Bank, Eastern Bank, Bank Asia, and IFIC Bank.

Tareq holds bachelor's and master's degrees in marketing from the University of Dhaka and an MBA in digital technology management from Royal Roads University, Canada.
