Al-Arafah Islami Bank launches tree plantation programme

Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC has launched a month-long tree plantation programme at leading universities in the country as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The programme was recently inaugurated at the University of Chittagong premises.

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC has launched a month-long tree plantation programme at leading universities in the country. The programme was recently inaugurated at the University of Chittagong premises with the slogan "Let's Beautify the Country Through Tree Plantation; Bangladesh Comes First", says a press statement.

Organised under the overall supervision of the Institute of Forestry and Environmental Sciences, University of Chittagong, the programme included the plantation of 1,000 saplings of various species. The inaugural ceremony was attended by Vice-Chancellor of the University Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Forkan, as the chief guest.

Deputy Managing Director of the bank S. M. Abu Jafar, University's Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Amin and Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration) Professor Dr. Md. Shafiqul Islam were present as special guests at the programme. The programme was presided over by Professor Dr. Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain, Director of the Institute of Forestry and Environmental Science.

Executive Vice President and Chittagong Central Regional Head and Agrabad Branch Manager Mohammad Salamat Ullah, Senior Assistant Vice President and Chawkbazar Branch Manager Mohammad Arifur Rahman, Assistant Vice President and Halishahar Branch Manager Mohammad Forkan and other senior officials of the bank were also present.

In addition, deans of various faculties of the university, teachers, students and concerned persons participated in the program.
