Ali Akhtar new chief engineer of LGED

Md Ali Akhtar Hossain has joined the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) as the chief engineer recently, said a press release.

Md Hossain, who was the Senior Additional Chief Engineer (Grade-2) of LGED Headquarters, has been given the current charge of chief engineer of LGED.

He replaced Chief Engineer Sheikh Mohammad Mohsin.

Ali Akhtar Hossain joined the LGED on June 01, 1989 and started off his career as an Upazila Engineer of Panchagarh Sadar Upazila. He served as Upazila Engineer, Executive Engineer and Project Director during his career of more than 34 years.

He was awarded Gold Medal in 1995 and Best Project Award for Sustainable Rural Infrastructure Improvement Project (SRIIP) from Asian Development Bank (ADB) for three consecutive years (2014, 2015 and 2016). He hails from Vijaynagar village in Godagari Upazila of Rajshahi on October 20, 1965.
