PRAN-RFL Group, a leading business conglomerate, has established a nursing college, Amjad Khan Chowdhury Nursing College, in Natore.
Uzma Chowdhury, chairman of the nursing college and Director (Corporate Finance) at PRAN-RFL Group, inaugurated the college at a programme on Monday, says a press release.
Earlier, the conglomerate set up a 50-bed hospital in Natore. Now the group inaugurated the nursing college to contribute to the health sector in Rajshahi and Natore regions and develop skilled human resources in the nursing sector.
The nursing college has many facilities, including experienced teachers, training facility, modern lab, large campus, and low-cost accommodation for the students.
Addressing the programme, Uzma Chowdhury said, "Nursing is a very noble profession across the globe and it has a huge demand in the country. This profession can play an important role if students can have standard education through nursing college. We have launched the nursing college to contribute to the health sector."
She added: "The aim of the group is to create employment in the country through business initiative. We have already employed more than 1,40,000 people directly in our workplace. The students will serve the nation after acquiring the proper knowledge from our nursing college."
Prince Roy, principal of the nursing college, said, "We have started our courses on B.SC in Nursing, Diploma in Nursing Science and Midwifery and Diploma in Midwifery. All curricula have been adorned with the specific syllabus of Bangladesh Nursing Council and our nursing college is under Rajshahi Medical University."
