Anwar-ul Alam re-elected BCI president

Evince Group chairman Anwar-ul Alam Chowdhury (Parvez), also a past president of the apparel trade body BGMEA, has been re-elected president of the Bangladesh Chamber of Industries (BCI).
BCI election board chairman Abdul Haque on Saturday announced the result of the election to the chamber for a two-year term (2023-25).
Priti Chakraborty, chairman of Universal Medical Collage Hospital and FBCCI director; and Mohammed Younus, managing director of Younus Group and chairman of Shahjalal Islami Bank; have been elected senior vice-president and vice-president respectively.
Other elected directors are Shahidul Islam Niru, Dr Delowar Hossain Raja, Ranjan Chowdhury, Mohammad Ismail Hossain, Zia Hayder Mithu, Mohd Mohabbat Ullah, Shah Alam Litu, Md Mizanur Rahman, Nazmul Anwar, MA Razzak Khan, Mohd Ishaqul Hossain Sweet, Abul Kalam Bhuiyan, Md Salim Jahan, SM Shah Alam Mukul, Joshoda Jibon Deb Nath, Md Shahid Alam, KM Rifatuzzaman, Ruslan Nasir, Md Khayer Mia, Sohana Rouf Chowdhury and Md Mafuzur Rahman.
The new board of directors took charge for two years the same day. Former BCI president Shahedul Islam Helel attended the function.
Election board member Md Kohinoor Islam, election appeal board member Hafez Haroon-or-Rashid, Ms Chakraborty and Mr Niru, among others, spoke there.
