APEX Tree plantation programme: Apex Footwear Limited has launched a tree plantation programme to mark the Founder's Day 2022. Syed Nasim Manzur, Managing Director of Apex, inaugurated the programme by planting a tree on the Mirpur Bangla School and College premises in Dhaka on Saturday. Chief Operating Officer of Apex Footwear Firoze Mohammad, Founder of Green Savers Ahsan Rony, and Principal of the college Mohammad Mustafa Kamal Khosnabish were also present. To commemorate the special occasion of Founder's Day 2022, celebrated on September 26 every year, Apex Footwear Limited has initiated a tree plantation programme with a view to promoting environmental care and raising environmental awareness by partnering with 'Green Savers', says a statement.
Both deforestation and global warming are on the rise and the only way of safeguarding the environment, ecology and climate is through planting more trees.
To initiate the programme, an MoU signing ceremony between Apex and Green Savers was held at the Head Office of Apex Footwear Limited in Gulshan-1 on Saturday.
Apex has taken a community-based approach to plant 2,600 trees and nurture them through Green Savers' 'Sponsor a Tree' programme under which the trees will be donated to 260 families who have taken a pledge to plant and nurture them in their own space.
Syed Nasim Manzur, Managing Director of Apex, inaugurated the programme by planting the first tree at Mirpur Bangla School and College in presence of its Principal Mohammad Mustafa Kamal Khosnabish and Assistant Headmaster Md Atiqure Rahman Mia.
Chief Operating Officer of Apex Footwear Limited Firoze Mohammad along with representatives of Green Savers, including its Founder Ahsan Rony, Head of Marketing Shadman Sakib Anik, and other officials from both the organisations attended the event.
