Asia pharma expo-2020 begins

Salman F Rahman MP, Private Industry and Investment advisor to the prime minister of Bangladesh, inaugurated the Asia Pharma Expo-2020 at the International Convention City, Bashundhara in Dhaka on Friday.

The three-day Asia Pharma Expo-2020 began at the International Convention City, Bashundhara in Dhaka on Friday to showcase the pharmaceutical technologies, processes, and equipment.

The Bangladesh Association of Pharmaceuticals Industries in collaboration with GPE Expo Private Limited is holding the 12th version of the exposition.

Salman F Rahman MP, Private Industry and Investment advisor to the prime minister of Bangladesh inaugurated the exhibition while Indian high commissioner to Bangladesh Riva Ganguly Das, BAPI President Nazmul Hassan MP, and Director General of Drug Administration Major General Mahbubur Rahman were also present, among others, at the inauguration ceremony.

In his inaugural speech Mr Salman F Rahman MP said, "This Expo is helping to develop the pharmaceutical industry of Bangladesh and making significant contribution to Bangladesh's economy."

Around 530 companies from 18 countries have participated while more than 11000 trade visitors are expected to attend the APE 2020.

The three-day international exhibition will end tomorrow (Sunday).

The expo will run from 9 am to 5 pm daily.

APE 2020, provides a very important platform for industry professionals and solution providers to meet and share knowledge and technological advancements.

This is the 12th edition of APE.

Bangladesh pharma industry currently meets around 98 percent of the local demand for medicines. Bangladeshi medicines are also being exported to 145 countries including the regulated markets of the USA, Europe, and Australia. Pharma has been declared as the export thrust sector and the govt. is taking various initiatives to promote the sector to realize its huge export potential.
