Asian Int\\\'l Trade Fair begins in city on June 18

The 8th Asian International Trade Fair 2014 will kick off on June 18 at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre.
This was disclosed at a press conference organised by Conference and Exhibition Management Services Ltd USA (CEMS-Global USA) in association with CEMS Bangladesh on the occasion.
CEMS Global USA President and Asia Pacific Group Managing Director Meherun N Islam, CEMS Bangladesh General Manager (marketing) Ahbab Ahmed Sobhan and CEMS Bangladesh General Manager (admin) Lutfur Rahman were present at the press conference.
This fair will help make people of Bangladesh more aware of advantages of Asian products and services and new innovations and technology available for them.
Over 100 exhibitors from 10 countries with exhibit profile like consumer electronics, communication technology, machinery, food and beverage, healthcare products and service, personal care and beauty products, household products, fashion and accessories, arts and crafts are participating in this exhibition.
The participants from Bangladesh, Malaysia, Thailand, Pakistan, Japan, China, India, Sri Land, Indonesia and Singapore will take part in it with their products.
There will be 142 stalls at the fair. The fair will remain open on the opening day from 1 pm to 9 pm and during the rest of the four days it will remain open from 11 am to 9 pm. The entry fee will be Tk 30 per person.
The organisers say Asia is considered to be the fastest-growing region in the world with GDP growth in the Asia-pacific region surging at an average annual rate of 6.3 per cent and in South Asia at the rate of 6.5 per cent compared to 3.1 per cent growth in the rest of the world.
The real driver of the world economy has been Asia, which has accounted for over a half of the world's growth since 2001. Asia has over 21 per cent contribution to the increase in the world's GDP, they say.
