Azam J elected Chairman of Prime Bank

The Board of Directors of Prime Bank Limited in its 417th board meeting held recently unanimously elected Azam J Chowdhury as the new Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bank for two years effective from 1st June 2014 to 31st May 2016.

Azam J. Chowdhury is a leading industrialist and entrepreneur in Bangladesh. He is the Chairman and owner of East Coast Group. In addition, he is the Chairman of The Consolidated Tea & Lands Company Bangladesh Limited (formerly, James Finlay Limited) and also the Chairman of Bangladesh Trade Syndicate Limited, an associate of TNT Express, a global express company.

Mr. Chowdhury is the Managing Director of MJL Bangladesh Ltd., Distributor of Exxon Mobil Corporation in Bangladesh. He is also Director of Central Depository Bangladesh Ltd (CDBL).

Mr. Chowdhury has been serving as the Vice President of Bangladesh Energy Companies Association and has been recently elected as the President of Bangladesh Ocean Going Ship Owner's Association (BOGSOA), according to a press release.
