Bank Asia arranged a training programme on Export Credit Agency (ECA) Covered Financing in collaboration with Landesbank Hessen Germany, (brand named Helaba) in Dhaka for the officials of Bank Asia. Mr. Thomas Kuerten, Director & Regional Manager, Financial Institutions, South Asia of Helaba and Mr. Christoph Winnat, Chief Representative in Singapore of Helaba conducted the training session. The branch managers, the trade finance in-charge and credit in-charge participated in the training session. ECA covered financing is a new product of trade finance and it has become popular in international trade. Under this system the foreign lenders provide export credit for 5 to 10 years at a very international competitive rate to the exporter on account of importer which reduces the pressure on local currency. The feature of ECA covered funds, details its operational procedures were discussed in the training.
