Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank (BB) Md. Abul Bashar has been promoted to Grade-1 officer, according to a notice issued by the central bank recently.
After joining the BB as an assistant director in early 1993, he has successfully discharged duties in various departments like payment systems, foreign exchange policy, foreign exchange investment, financial inclusion, SME and special programmes, and financial sector support and strategic planning.
Hailing from Satkania upazila of Chattogram district, Mr Bashar completed his graduation and post-graduation degrees in English literature from the University of Chittagong.
He also completed post-graduation in economics from the National University and MBA degree from the Bangladesh Open University.
