Both Bangladesh and Italy want to further deepen and expand the bilateral economic relations between the two countries.
Commerce Adviser Sk Bashir Uddin and Italian Ambassador to Bangladesh Antonio Alessandro expressed their interests in this regard at a meeting held at the commerce ministry on Wednesday. The meeting discussed various issues, including bilateral trade, investment, and economic cooperation between Bangladesh and Italy.
Commerce adviser said that the investment environment in Bangladesh is now better than ever. His ministry is committed to providing all kinds of cooperation for Italian investors.
The Italian ambassador reiterated his country's interest in working closely with Bangladesh. "We are keen to encourage Italian investment and technology transfer in Bangladesh. There is a huge potential for increasing cooperation, especially in the medium- and small-scale industries sector."
Additional Secretary (Export) of the commerce ministry Md. Abdur Rahim Khan and Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of Italy Federico Zamparelli were present at the meeting.
