VIP Industries Ltd. is insured by Bangladesh General Insurance Company (BGIC) PLC. A devastating fire broke out at VIP-1 Bag Factory located in Mangla EPZ, Khulna, on January 31, 2023. Subsequently, VIP Industries, the insured party, applied to BGIC for an advance payment on February 25, 2024. BGIC promptly recovered Tk 50 million from the foreign reinsurer and disbursed a partial insurance claim cheque to VIP Industries at BGIC's Head Office on Tuesday. BGIC Chairman of BGIC Towhid Samad and CEO of VIP Industries Anjan Mohanty were present at the cheque handover ceremony. BGIC CEO Ahmed Saifuddin Chowdhury was also present.
