The two-day 'Shah Abdul Karim Loko Utshob-2025' was celebrated with timeless folk melodies, paying tribute to the legendary Baul Samrat, Shah Abdul Karim at Ujandhal in Derai, Sunamganj, organised by Shah Abdul Karim Parishad with the support of bKash.

The festival was held at Ujandhal in Derai, Sunamganj, organised by Shah Abdul Karim Parishad with the support of bKash, says a statement.
Son of Baul Samrat and Shah Abdul Karim Parishad President Shah Nur Jalal presided over the festival. Deputy Commissioner of Sunamganj Dr Mohammad Ileas Mia and Chief External & Corporate Affairs Officer of bKash Major General Sheikh Md Monirul Islam (retd) were present at the inaugural ceremony on Friday.
Folk musicians and devotees from across the country performed throughout the two-day festival, ensuring his musical legacy is passed down through generations.
The event attracted a diverse crowd, including local youths, families, fans, and well-wishers from all over the country and abroad.
The Ujandhal ground, the festival venue, was also vibrant with various stalls, offering items like muri-murki, sweets, toys, and household goods, adding to the festival's lively atmosphere.
The annual festival has been organised on the bank of River Kalni since 2006.
