CHATTOGRAM, Apr 06: The Asian University for Women (AUW) marked the conclusion of its 2025-2026 cohort with Boisabi Fest 2026 on Sunday, bringing together culture, dialogue and community in a vibrant celebration organised by the university's Peace Café.
A key highlight of the festival was a panel discussion titled "Reclaiming Space: Indigenous Voices and Visibility in Bangladesh," where speakers reflected on issues of identity, representation and inclusion. The Financial Express was the media partner of the event.
The session featured distinguished speakers including human rights defender and adviser to the Chakma Circle Chief Rani Yan Yan; activist and visual storyteller Paddmini Chakma; digital content creator Malaching Marma, known for promoting Marma culture; and Sunetra Talukdar, a CLPD officer at AUW and alumna of the Class of 2024.
The discussion created an engaging platform for dialogue on indigenous visibility in Bangladesh.
The festival also showcased stalls run by AUW student entrepreneurs, offering a wide range of creative and culturally inspired products.
The event concluded with colourful dance performances representing Myanmar, Bhutan, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and indigenous communities of Bangladesh, adding colour and energy to the celebration.
As the final event of the cohort, Boisabi Fest 2026 stood as a powerful reminder of the importance of dialogue, diversity, and student-led initiatives in fostering a more inclusive future.
